Adapters with different voltages and currents are often used on different instruments, equipment and machines. Therefore, the following aspects should be paid attention to when selecting power adapters:
1. In order to improve the reliability of the system, it is recommended that the switching power supply should work at 50%-80% load, that is, assuming that the power used is 20W, the switching power supply with output power of 25w-40w should be selected.
2. Try to use the manufacturer's standard power supply, including standard size and output voltage. In this way, the delivery will be faster; On the contrary, the special size and output voltage will increase the development time and cost.
3. Define the input voltage range. Take AC input as an example. The common input voltage specifications are 110V and 220V, so there are three specifications: 110V, 220V AC switching and general input voltage (ac:85v-264v). The input voltage specification shall be selected according to the region of use.
4. Switching power supply will consume part of power during operation and release it in the form of heat. Therefore, users should consider the heat dissipation of switching power supply in system design (especially closed system).
5. Determine the required output voltage and current according to the service conditions; Size, installation mode and installation hole position of power supply; There are several outputs, and whether each output needs electrical isolation; Input voltage range; Determine the derating degree and power supply power of switching power supply according to the ambient temperature; Whether certification and safety standards are required; Cooling mode of power supply: natural cooling or forced air cooling; Electromagnetic compatibility standards.
